As more intelligent technologies are introduced, more jobs will be lost in this country. The jobs that survive the upcoming infusion of “production technologies” will pay little and you will be lucky if these jobs pay you full-time wages. Retail, waitresses, and realtors will be the next batch of employees that will suffer with this imbecile infusion of technological adoptions. The problem for us all is that service driven positions represent a large chunk of American jobs left from the long gone assembly line plants. I am seeing a future where machinery will replace them all and cause a tremendous hardship for American families.
Think about it. Why would anyone go to a bank to chat with a teller when they can go to a machine to do the same? Why hire waitresses if we can place vending and ordering machines in restaurants to replace them? Car reservations can be done on-line, right? How about hotel reservations? Do you really need to buy clothes in a mall? The service industry of the United States will be slaughtered in the next three to five years because of technology and guess what? There will be nothing that you and I can do to reverse this scary trend.
“People jobs,” because of accelerated growth in modern computer technology and the financial support given by TechnoHitler capitalists– will be mainly performed by machines very soon. What will happen to the truck driving industry if we create self driven cars? Maybe if we adopt the brand new Phantom 4 to deliver products at your door? Artificial intelligence and smart technologies will be introduced to take a slice of the jobs performed by your brain. At least, this is what Robert Reich, former United States Secretary of Labor believes. Education is in trouble as well as health care. We are going to see technologies doing the “work” of a professor in mass scale. Interactive systems guided by low labor faculty will replace college professor jobs rapidly. This is an unfortunate but it will happen within a decade or less, I bet.
A large number of American citizens will be seen by RD’s (robot doctors) and/or receive health care prescriptions from a tele-medicine center, in a decade or so. Why am I saying all of this? Because I see celebration of computer innovation implementation at all costs and little attention to TechnoModeration. People want to dream with technology without critically thinking about its systemic consequences to the system.
I am a dreamer, maybe one of the very few left, who still believes in doing what is still best for the majority of the people. Human beings are seeking their own destruction and celebrating its demise to idolize technology. It is happening right before our human eyes! It is getting to a point of no return. Wake up! Be a TechnoModerator in your community. Be a lover of technology but don’t forget to love yourself and your peers in the process. You are gonna need it.
