What Noam Chomsky Told Me About The Corona Virus (COVID-19) Pandemic

I had a brief email correspondence with Noam Chomsky. I asked:

Luis Camillo Almeida: What are your thoughts on COVID-19 and the future of the American economy?”

Noam Chomsky: In brief, it was anticipated, could have been prevented, a colossal market failure.  It can be contained it seems.  South Korea and other Asian countries are an example.  Or it can be handled badly, as in Europe, or very badly, as in the US, the one major country that can’t even provide data.

It seems that Noam Chomsky is right, again. The data that we are gathering about the
COVID-19 in the USA doesn’t seem right. I find highly unlikely that the state of California only has 2,853 cases of COVID-19 when New York has over 30,000 cases.
Thought I should share this information with you.
