Charismatic/Pentecostal Churches — So Much Error

For about a year, I attended the church of God (COG), a Pentecostal/charismatic denomination that owned my former employer, Lee University. Looking back, I couldn’t be more uncomfortable with what I’ve been experienced in that denomination. In this article, I will share with you what I’ve witnessed in the COG.

First of all, much divination is practiced in there. How many times have I heard, “God has something for you,” “I’m hearing… there is something about to happen in your life…” how different is the former from fortune telling? You tell me.

Much enchantment I saw in the church of God. The hypnotic euphoria that I’ve witnessed in several COG churches in Cleveland TN was scary. Enchantment is witchcraft, according to Pastor Smith. I’ve witnessed people possessed and hypnoses by repetitive music, I can still hear the “ I, I, I, Iiiiii” Hillsong music being sang by the attendees.

“He is for you, he is for you, he is for you…” “Then pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: Now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments.” Exodus 7:11.

And the Kundalini spirits, what Pentecostals experience when they shake their bodies uncontrollably! It was so prominent in their congregations. There was so much Easter mysticism!

How demonic — My God.

There is a time for everything in life, as we learn from Ecclesiastes 3. A time to leave and a time for

War… I don’t even want to remember these times no more. What a horrible time I had in Cleveland Tennessee especially in these charismatic/Pentecostal churches. God knows best and rescued my family from the Lion’s den.

Be careful with these Pentecostals. Resist the new apostolic reformation movement of unity that these church organizations advance. Keep your faith in the Lord and be grounded in scripture because God’s word live. Choose doctrine before experience and God’s word versus allegory.
