The work that we do, we do for the Lord. In rest we work sometimes, I say. Thank the Lord for the day of rest! “Rest so that you don’t perish… “Hebrews 4:11.
In Mark 2:27 we learn that “And he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.” We are also reminded to “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy” exodus 20:8. Keeping the sabbath is good. It’s holy. It’s good for us. It’s a command.
When we refer to meaningful events in nature, we quickly realize that God designed life on earth to have an element t of rest all over His creation. God is God and can do whatever He wants.
There is a calm before the storm; Banks aren’t open from Monday to Sunday; Birds flying in the V formation exchange leadership positions in the tour south each year in order to rest. Lack of rest is a toxic philosophy and is a contributing factor in people’s stress level, feelings of anxiety and depression.
The sabbath was made for us. Enjoy rest. Celebrate God and obey God’s commandment. Blessings to you.
