“Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it He rested from all the work of creating that He had done” Genesis 2:3. Even God, with all his might and glory… rested. As His creation, we must obey His commandments and on the sabbath — rest.
The benefits to resting are many. First of all, resting served as a natural energizer that can and probably will recharge your body in ways that are difficult to describe. The act of peaceful sleeping on the sabbath is our duty because He did it first.
I see much anxiety here. I see much anxiety there… I see much anxiety everywhere. Are you resting on the sabbath? Like watching a movie the whole day and enjoying the godly act of disconnecting? I strongly suggest that you consider taking a break on Saturday’s until sundown.
You won’t be disappointed. We all need to take resting seriously and make sure that next time you feel stressed or anxious about a facet of our lives — that you trust God and rest.
Life will be much better for you, I bet.
