I Can’t Sing to Bethel or Hillsong Music Songs

It is not just the lack of musical creativity, eastern mysticism vibes combined with pop and four chords all night long music with three arpeggios that makes me listening to Bethel and Hillsong music unbearable.

Christian Contemporary Music (CCM), besides being musically elementary and full of meaningless repetitions like spirit move we are ready for you, hallelujah our God reins, we give you the highest praise, and many more… is in my conception a movement not founded in solid Christian doctrine but instead in demonic entertaining free for all loving non-judgement ecumenicism.

I have serious problems with any music that is associated with Christian unity tied to church experience through music that incorporates occult symbols and profit in its core. The fact that Bethel and Hillsong music is associated with the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR), a movement with goals to create a fifth branch of Christendom, led by former members from traditional Pentecostal and charismatic churches, is as troublesome to me.

I have worked in an organization that was Pentecostal in nature. You don’t want to work in such institutions and what is as bad… The hypocrisy and the songs played at chapel in such organizations are mostly CCM songs sang by a multitude of students who have been oppressed by the shallow meanings of these songs’ lyrics.

Their Pentecostal churches, which constantly play hillsong and bethel music, are full of kids in their congregations due to the entertainment nature of their service but many of these poor kids leave the faith when they reach adulthood due to not learning a solid Christian doctrine when growing up and participating in music spectacles that some call modern Christianity.

Let me keep things real for you, if I may.

The several churches that we attended in Tennessee constantly played Bethel and Hillsong songs yet their congregations were spiritually dead and lost in Pentecostalism and dominion theology. Kingdom now theology, or the belief that Satan is in control of the world not God and that people will help God to get back control is preached in taught its life groups on Wednesday evenings… These churches can’t be from God, in my view.

Satan is creation. God is the creator and therefore don’t need man to help Him to accomplish His will. Singing Christian contemporary music maybe entertaining for many youngsters but raising hands, closing one’s eyes and repeating meaningless statements combined with Indian mantras played on the keyboard may result in shallow Christianity and even demonic encounters.

Say no to labyrinth prayer, visualizations, interfaithism, personal prophesy, feelings based discernment and as important… the repetitive music and mantras played by CCM artists. You deserve better. You deserve to worship the one true loving God not be a part of a pop concert. Be weary of music with known elements from non-Christian traditions if your goal is to grow in the Christian faith.

You might end up celebrating an anti-Christian agenda without knowing otherwise. Remember what is written in Hosea 4:6, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge because you have rejected knowledge.” Be aware!
